The complete guide to fire inspection software.

What the platform should do after the inspector leaves the parking lot.

Fire inspection software is not a digital clipboard. It is the system that carries a property, a device, a deficiency, and an invoice through one workflow so the office is not retyping the field.

If a technician can finish a job on a phone but the office still rebuilds the report, the quote, and the invoice from scratch, you do not have a platform — you have another place to store photos.

Start with the inspection itself. Can a technician find the next device without hunting, pass or fail it, attach a photo, and keep working in a basement with no signal? If that loop is slow, the rest of the feature list does not matter.

Then follow the deficiency. A fail should become a classified finding with the device, photos, and notes still attached — ready to quote or invoice. Software that stops at “report generated” leaves money and follow-up on the table.

Finally, look at the schedule. Recurring NFPA work has to stay visible by property and due date. Spreadsheets hide overdue annuals until a customer or an AHJ asks.

A useful trial is one real property: import the device list, complete an inspection offline, generate the report, and turn one fail into a quote. If any of those steps requires retyping, you will pay for that friction on every job.
